>>Really? I print exclusively using historical silver-based processes
(salted
paper, albumen. POP) and I thought this list pertained to those processes
just as much as platinun/palladium, carbon, or gum. I've certainly never
seen a word from the list owner that "Alternative" pertained only to
non-silver processes. Maybe it would be better to leave such decisions up
to Gordon?

First of all, the point / question was is seeing with your eyes and the way
the eye was to be considered an ALT process. Secondly, the general
impression people get is anything other than silver based process is
considered ALT. Try reading past posts and any reasonable thinker will
conclude this impression is correct. Third, don't drag Gordon into this, it
is not needed. I was not trying to imply that other processes are not to be
discussed on an ALT list. Forth, Platinum, Palladium, Carbon/Carbo, Gum,
tintypes, Daguerreotypes and other techniques have a very long history in
the world of photography, and I would argue that these techniques are not
really Alternative processes. They have co-existed with silver for a long
time.

If you would have read carefully, this would be clear to you.
