Methinks this is a good observation. I always noticed the pearlescent gray
clouds forming in beakers when rinsing them out in LA tap water. A sure
indication of chlorides and enough of them to make a highly visible effect
in the beakers. This is certainly enough to effect the print. I'll try this
idea soon. We have a reverse osmosis system here. Just a consumer grade
Amdek model that can be had from Home Depot for about $150.00. A busy
darkroom might find one useful.

We always fill our tea kettle with RO water and don't get the crust in the
pot. Don't feed little kiddies RO water or you will starve them to death.
