=================== Stealth 3D 2000 Pro ===================

------------------------------------- Q. When I try running a Direct3D application (Hellbender, Monster Truck Madness, etc.), if I enable the "Use Hardware Accelerator" option I receive a message that there is either no 3D hardware support or support for a specific 3D function. A. Direct3D support is implemented in the 16bpp (64k) high color depth. You will need to have the display set to 640x480@16bpp, 800x600@16bpp or 1024x768@16bpp modes. Close the game down, change to one of these modes, then rerun the application. ------------------------------------- Q. What is the chipset used on the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro? A. The Stealth 3D 2000 Pro uses the S3 Virge/DX chipset, also known as the S3 375 chipset. ------------------------------------- Q. How do I get output to my TV-Set (on models that include TV-Output). A. Simply hook up a TV with RCA or S-VHS inputs to your Stealth 3D 2000 Pro and turn on the system. At that point, the Windows bootup and DOS screens should appear on the screen. To activate the TV-Output in Windows 95, bring up Display Properties by double clicking on Display in the Control Panel. Then bring forward the TV tab of Display Properties. In the lower right-hand corner, there is an On/Off button. Click the button to activate TV-Output and adjust using the controls until the screen appears satisfactory. In many cases, better results can be obtained by routing the output through a VCR before going into the TV. ------------------------------------- Q. Does the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro support OpenGL for GL Gaming? A. The Stealth 3D 2000 Pro does not support OpenGL under Windows 95. For best results, a 3Dfx based card such as the Monster 3D should be used for GL Games. ------------------------------------- Q. Does the Stealth 3D 2000 Pro support VESA 2.0? A. The models that do not have TV-Output have VESA 2.0 in the BIOS and no additional software is needed to run VESA 2.0 applications. For models that have TV-Output, a TSR is required. It can be downloaded from: http://www.diamondmm.com/products/drivers/stealth3d-2000-pro.html ------------------------------------- Q. When I click on the information tab of display properties I am alerted to an error involving desk.cpl A. This error is typically caused when Windows advises that a file being copied is older than one currently on the system and suggests that you keep the more recent file. The solution is to re-install the updated drivers, and when prompted that a file being copied is older than one currently on the system answer NO to the file _dminfo.loc, and yes to files like: mfc40.dll, mfc42.dll, msvcrt.dll,etc. -------------------------------------

If this does not help you resolve your issue, please respond to this message and add the number 911 to the subject line.
