I should add (I told you, Judy, that my posts always need footnotes)
that I'm under no illusion that my prints would be as acceptable to some
of your critical eyes as they are to mine, but people respond to them
and that's all that matters to me. And I'm not ever going to be a threat
to any of you; I'm barely successful in a tiny out-of-the-way corner of
an out-of-the-way corner of the world and intend to stay that way; I
have no ambitions, as I said, to be famous.

It's not really relevant here but I meant to add to my observations on
being an outsider that one of the great benefits of being an outsider is
that you never, ever, have to go to meetings! for which this former
consultant to federal and state agencies (as a statistician, actually)
breathes a deep sigh of relief every single morning. I live a life that
makes me very happy; I wish for all of you the same blessing. For now—
