On the strictest sense, it is true that they are not "true continuous tone,"
but the point that I was trying to make is that silver negatives should not be
thought of as digital negative with resolution approaching infinity (or vice
versa, that is, don't think that digital negatives are simply silver negatives
with coarse grains). The model will give difficulty in printing (on in
controlling the printing process especially when you run into problems).
