Today, the best you can get is really 600 DPI at the local computer store.
Do not believe what the boxes say. In a few months there will be affordable
1200 Actual DPI scanners. But think about it 1200X5( negative in one
direction X 1200 X4(negative in the other direction) X 30(or more colors)
gives you the bits required to just scan the image. I think this translates
to over one gigabyte per image
