Making silver nitrate by disolving silver metal in nitric acid and then
precipitating out the crystals with a something else rang a memory bell.
As I recall, if you add ethyl alcohol you get fulminate of silver crystals.
When dry, these crystals can detonate if you look at them sideways. n'est pas?
