Hi Jonathan, I'm changing the subject line to match, so maybe posterity
will be able to find this magic formula... I note however that "the
literature" says it is NOT as archival as regular cyanotype, tho I myself
have never seen trouble... Anyway,

This is made from your regular cyanotype formula, and I assume is the same
as the Berg Blue toner...

10 cc cyanotype solution A
10 cc cyanotype solution B
in 20 ounces water
add 70 cc 28% acetic acid...

Fully-toned print can be modified in borax solution (1 tsp borax: litre of
water) which turns the blue to brown. Dashing into rinse water at the
right moment gives split tones -- beige highlights, blue shadows. Wash 5
min.

Working solution goes off fairly quickly, so use small amounts at a time.
Stock solution (the separate A & B from your cyanotype mix) keeps more or
less as well as you do....

Oh & PS, Post-Factory Photography Issue #3, now in steady but slow
production, has got a *super* feature (if I may say so, & try to stop me)
on toning silver gelatin, trade secrets and all, you won't believe -- not
that greasy-kit stuff...

Have fun,

Judy
