Patrick,
I've been told that you can also smooth the surface of a print on
platinotype by putting the finished print through a very high pressure
etching or engraving press, in contact with a perfect sheet of
plexiglass. Haven't tried it since I don't have such a press, but I'll
give your wet treatment a try.
