Check out this website. This is a photopolymer print making process, with
results similar to photogravure. The enlarged negatives we made in a class
I took on this were done on a laserjet printer.

It requires the photopolymer film, copper plates, etchant, and a press.
Maybe not what you meant by simple, but the results were pretty nice.
