Joao, it does & it doesn't have "an order," according to which source you
believe in. Offset printers begin with the red -- oops I forget, maybe
it's the blue. Some gum printers claim the opposite. I've tried it both
ways and in my experience the vagaries of mixing and coating and the
particular negative, exposure, & development matter more.
Which is to say, I've never found any preference, except I start with red
out of habit. I don't start with the yellow because then I can't see the
image to reregister. If you're reregistering mechanically, though.....
PS. In offset printing, once you've run your 3 or 4 passes through the
press, end of story -- so order might matter more. In gum printing, it's
common, in fact maybe usual, to do a 2nd or even 3rd run of a color,
perhaps with a different mix, which needless to say adds a lot of flex.
