I think that I have seen a similar situation when I printed a Ziatype on
Fabriano Artistico 140 lb hot press. The surface of the paper, especially
in the solid black background, looked, and felt, sandy. This paper also had
this sandiness when I tried coating it with a glass rod. Needless to say, I
haven't used this paper since for Ziatype.
