I have this info from one who went there -- John Dugdale *not* on the
named website:
=================================
I checked out the web site from the Gallery that will be showing the
Cyanotypes and at present it is showing male nudes by a Mr. French.
=========================
Of course we don't know yet whether Mr. French (whoever he is & wherever
he hails from) is doing an *alternative* process, but I'll ask John
tomorrow whether there is any cyber presence of his blues.
Meanwhile, a book in print, "Lengthening Shadows Before Nightfall," yes a
coffee table book by Twin Palms, ISBN 0-944092-30-6, with poetry by Walt
Whitman, 1855, shows many of John's beautiful cyanotypes to that date,
although unfortunately a number of them badly scanned (in the relative
pre-history of digital printing), have a coarse grainy look not in
the reality -- tho the imagery speaks above the grain, so to speak.
Another book by a publisher not only famed but practically notorious for
gorgeous printing seems destined for next year. Details in due course of
course,
I'll add that I've planned an article about John for P-F #5, although I've
had that planned for the last 2 issues & lacked room. I expect, though, if
I don't do it soon, he'll be so famous I won't be able to get through the
mobs (even next door). But #5 will feature cyanotype so it probably will
be... And, flash! #4 shakes itself free of the curse of the digitons, two
scanners working, 3rd to be wrestled to the mat this PM. Theme of #4, BTW,
is "Beauty from Poison."
best,
Judy
