John Duggdale's cynotypes are indeed of rare quality and compassion. The
portrait of his mother is especially commendable. The work is presented in
simply stated frames with old window glass which casts its imperfections on
the prints. As we learned from the New York Times article in the "Home"
section last week he is sensitive to a counterclockwise movement of time.
This adds a unique dimension to his work, an aspect which would detract were
it not for an understanding of this sensitive, unsighted, artist. Joachim
