Jeffrey -
I have to admit that even though you don't charge $$ for access, that
writing you an email promising to respect the copyright does seem a little
suspicious. For us aging hippies, maybe even draconian. I'm sure that more
than one person has walked away from your site instead of requesting a
password. Anyone desiring to "steal" your information can learn the
technique, write it up in their own words, and avoid the copyright issue in
total.
I think that we should be thankful to anyone that publishes or posts their
findings in the alt photo area. I consider the $6 that I pay for Post
Factory to be very nominal. It's the cheapest entertainment ($/hour) that I
will every purchase. I print in platinum, so I would probably not ever buy
a book on gum printing, especially an expensive one. After reading Post
Factory, I bought a gallon of gum.
I'm also glad that you put up your web site. I don't follow your process,
but reading yours did make me think and re-consider my own. I think that
changing over to a guest sign up, with a description of why you want that
information, would change the feel significantly.
