RODINAL "S", "SP" or "SPECIAL"

DEAR DAVID, ROGER AND WITHO,
Thank you for your help...I will be in touch. Perhaps you could share
your experiences with Rodinal S or SP with the American members of the
list...they have been conspicuous by their absence in response to my
request...not as acts of omission but
most probably due to the lack of opportunity to use this great developer.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET IT IN THE U.S...with the result that many
photographers there are unaware of its charms.
I find that it combines excellent fine grain, decent edge effect, good
compensation and VERY short development times...on the order of 4 to 6
minutes (most films are 5 min) at 70 F but with VERY uniform processing (I
do use a presoak). I use it exclusively where I do not need or want Pyro
effects.
Why can't it be had in the U.S.? As we say in Barbados,
I CON....FUSED! Would one of the American list members be willing to call
the 800 number (we have NO toll free calls here in Pair of Dice) and ask why
it isn't available in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? Who
knows...enough interest may get some Agfa marketing manager's attention and
"Presto" it may become available. Its only liability is the Rodinal part of
its name...it is as different from regular Rodinal as Mussorgsky is from
Muzak.
                                                    CHEERS!
                                                                BOB KISS
