Charles,
If I may add to your question, I saw some large Tom Baril prints that were
toned in tea that looked incredible. In case you're not aware of his work,
Tom Baril is a master printer from New York who printed many of Mapplethorpes
images in the 70's. I believe he has a book called Botancials, soon to be
published.
Any comments on tea/coffee toning? Specifically, the best dilutions, toning
times, procedures, etc. My nontechnical guess would be this is a procedure
which tones the paper and not the silver as in conventional toning.
Thanks in advance for any input.

P.S. I actually thought this was posted on the pure-silver list and just
noticed it's the alt-photo list (too many lists to remember). I apologize if
my question isn't alt enough...

Anybody have some homemade recipes for toning black and white photos with
blue, green and red tones???? I prefer some easy-to-cook recipes ... I
research on the Web but some recipes I found uses hard-to-find chemicals or
toxic ones.
Thanks,
