Don,

With staining developers such as PMK, and the Pyrocatechin Pyrocat
formula made available in the last issue of Post Factory Photography,
you will get maximum image stain with alkaline fixers.

In my working conditions Kodak Rapid-Fix has a pH of about 5.2
(ACIDIC), the TF-3 formula a pH of about 9.0 (ALKALINE). All other
things the same you will get more stain with the alkaline TF-3
formula than with Kodak Rapid-Fix.
