Christina,
Seems most of your questions may have been answered. To maybe make
things a little clearer you need to decide if you want a 4x5 that has
controllable movements on the front and back (swings, tilts-both
horizontal and vertical) which works on a rail. The standard Toyo view
camera has all this (I have one and am quite happy). The older Calumets
are also cheap and reliable, though a bit heavy. If you're not
interested in correction (or distortion) of converging/diverging lines
(like for architectural photog.) a field or press camera is a great and
cheaper alternative. They usually fold up to a very small size. As to
lenses you can always shop around and get a good deal on a used one. I
would personally avoid buying a cheap lens as this may well be the
backbone of your camera system.
Hope this helps.
