In my experience, the change in strength takes place so gradually that one
adjusts -- tho idea of running 100 hours to start is intriguing. I'll add
that these bulbs are (in "the literature") rated at 7000 to 9000 hours, or
mine were... and I've found that, especially when face up, they do tend
over the years to get a coating of not very obvious but still considerable
dirt. Wipe off every few months with a soft cloth...
