Dichromate staining... another theory

Hi all,

Have just coated a sheet with a mixture of ivory black & Chinese white (zinc
oxide) in gum and dichromate solution. The dinner plate on which it was
mixed now has a strong yellow-green stain which hot water and a scouring pad
have failed to shift. Might certain colours react with dichromate (I know
ivory black's OK), perhaps forming an insoluble coloured chromate?
