There is a very interesting exhibition on at the Museum of Richmond, near
London, UK that might interest any visitors over here. Researched by Dr
Carloyn Bloore.
George Hilditch (1803-57) was in the silk business. He exhibited paintings
at the Royal Academy, London and about 1852 took up the calotype process,
making imgages of the sames scenes round Richmond that he had previously
painted. These were exhibited at the first and ealy exhibitions of the now
Royal Photographic Society.
