That isn't required, your household circuit breaker will work instead.
Just make sure your outlet is wired properly (check the polarity). If there is ever a short in the exposure unit the breaker will kill the circuit. If you are possibly using the unit near a water source like in your darkroom then a ground fault breaker and/or outlet is advised for safety's sake. Note the common use of these in most motel bathrooms where an electric hair dryer or shaver may be used near a sink or shower. The same rule applies here too.
