Hi Mac,
I have been printing on Albumen paper that I prepared
about 4 or 5 months ago, and it still fine. Keep it in
dry conditions, though. The fridge would probably be
best, although I have never had room in mine. Most
importantly, when you are preparing the albumen
solution, beat the eggs as much as possible. Put them
in the blender for a good 2 or 3 minutes to denature
them as much as possible.
I also have tried several papers, and Strathmore 500
series has worked the best for me so far.
I love the process of Albumen printing! Except for the
part where I have to hunt for the freshest eggs!
