Good advice, but I will add a gentle caution. If you are using the
materials for personal use, that is one thing. If you are using the
process commercially, that is something else to consider. There might be
laws that apply in one case but not the other. Ask first. We all live in
different parts of the country or the world, so there might be laws that
apply to you that do not apply to me.

I can paint at home and discard the materials with little fear. However,
if I am painting vehicles for paying customers, I must follow lots of
rules and regulations. Richard is correct about some folks thinking that
there is less problem with shops and restraunts. I have used materials in
painting that are most likely far worse than what comes out of a
darkroom.

If you are not sure, or if you read the law as saying it is OK to do what
you are currently doing, then perhaps you can proceed with a clear
conscience. Just ask yourself how you would want your neighbors to handle
their effluents.
