I mist with a sprayer, of the type used in home cleaning products
such as Windex, a window cleaning chemical. The size of the droplets
does not seem to make much difference, at leas within the common
limits of sprayers. The main consideration is to apply the mist
before the gelatin has begun to set. If you wait until it begins to
harden small craters will be formed which will not go away.

About 10-20 ml per liter of alcohol added to the gelatin can help,
but I find misting much more effective.
