David, in classrooms & my own darkroom, I've found keeping trays covered
at all times more important than ventilation -- but if you do put in fans
(assuming your brownstone cellar has some access to outdoors), be sure the
intake is at tray level, not ceiling level.... which wafts it past your
face. We ran a thread on this a few months ago (well, maybe it was last
year, time flies.)
