Re the Sontag article . . I'll read it. For sure. But, she may have
mellowed since she does live w/Annie Liebowitz and they just had a child.
However, I would agree that TV, as per the original premise by Marshall
Mcluhen's, "The Medium is the Massage" 1967. Wherein he states . .
"Societies have always been shaped more by the nature of the media by which
men communicate than by the content of the communications."
TV does not (note I didn't say cannot) but for few instances, sustain
interest such a single photograph. I have presumed the success of Ken Burns'
work for TV was due to the use of still photographs which created the buzz,
actually, over the topic.
