Water chemistry

Does anyone have any thoughts on the chemistry of softened water and its
effect on print quality in Pt/Pd?

I have to soften my well water because we are in limestone country here
in the mountains.  The softener uses *potassium* chloride, instead of
the usual sodium chloride.  I mix EDTA clearing baths, and wash in this
water.  

Anyone know of any deleterious effects on print quality, especially
black density, using softened water?  Thanks for your comments.
