Re: cyanotype on cloth



so you rinse the cloth to remove sizing but do not actually wash it with laundry detergent?

Hi,
I've successfully printed Van Daykes on cloth: linen,  raw silk and  pure
cotton.

I've found it important to use new cloth (never washed, no soap or softener
residues), which i rinse VERY well sevral times, prior to use.
I coat the cloth while it is wet but not soaking.

The tonal range i've been able to reach, has been relatively limited in
comparison to using the same negs on "arches" or other similar papers.

I tried precoating the cloth with starch, but didn't like the effect.
