Precious metals have a special place in the universe of photography, particularly in the production of aesthetically unique posters, covers, and art works. Renowned photographer Alfred Stieglitz referred to platinum as the "prince of media" and used it in his work. It has a growing following today.

Engelhard produces platinum, palladium and gold solutions that impart special effects and enable the artist to adjust the tone of their work in unique ways.

Subject: platinic acid as contrast agent

Eric,

I reread your observations w the above in respect to Pt/Pd blends
communicated on Dec. 5, 2003. I am curious about its having "quite an
effect". My questions:

Does it work with Pd alone?
If so, how does it compare with Sodium chloroplatinate (Na2)?
How can one reach Engelhard?

Thank you for your help. Rajul
