I have encountered a reference to Monsell's salt, which is said to be "basic
ferric sulphate." There are other references to ferric sulphate in the book
(as opposed to Monsell's salt), so does "basic" ferric sulphate mean that
the salt has been somehow rendered more alkaline? If so, how would one do
that?
