But don't miss my point: if your negative was developed in an ordinary
(non-staining) developer and is falling just short of the contrast you need,
treatment in very strong (1:3) selenium toner will move an anemic 1.70
densitomer reading on a highlight right up to a robust 2.10 or 2.20. ---Carl
