My definition is the same; when I say that I haven't seen any brands
that don't work, this is what I mean, that I haven't found any brands
that won't clear well. But as I just said, I haven't looked at every
off-brand paint.
Dave brought up the question of permanence; everyone knows what a
stickler I am about permanence, but to me that's a different issue than
whether a pigment "works" in the sense above. And I think Stephen Livick
had the same meaning when he referred to brands that "work" in my
conversations with him I got the sense that he meant that for him, only
these particular brands cleared.
