This is an old chestnut from AA's THE PRINT, but worth repeating till
everyone on Earth complies.... A photograph in the std. white or cream
mat looks like crap against a white wall. The wall/background needs to
be mid-gray, mid-blue, mid-green, even mid-red (I've seen that look
excellent). -jb

Subject: Matting and framing Theory

I was wondering if any one had any suggestions or theory's on matting
and
framing B&W work to enhance the image..Color, tones of mats and frames
,
Frame types., Mounting.. techniques, materials, ect.. ?
Do you frame your work for shows or just mat them..? Do you find that
framed images sell better at shows than just matted..?
