Maybe not better, but is that the question/issue? What technology has the
bigger ...?
I think digital cameras can be very usefull and are cerainly more than good
enough to make
(digital) negatives for alt-processes.
Why not embrace new technologies and use them to our advantage while still
keeping the old ones alive?
BTW: I don't want to start an (anti-)digital war here. I'm all in favour of
analogue. I even like to go
back to the old ways by building pinhole cameras myself. I also still use a
Leica from the 1930-s once in a while.
But yes: I also like to use my Nikon D1X digital camera. There is a time and
place for everything, I say.
Go for the merrits of a system and if they don't suit you: well, don't use
it. But don't discard the new system
just because it endangers the other (as digital actually does to analogue
BTW). Be a Vulcan and go for the facts.
If we had discarded bronse some centuries ago, wouldn't we still be using
stones? Just try to get a shutterspeed
of 1/500 sec. with two bricks.
I'll shut up now before I get to much OT.
And I would like to apologize to anyone who might be offended, hurt or
scorned in any way by reading this.
I'm not trying to make a point, just some observations.
