Dear all,
Thanks so much for all those who kindly replied to my plea for help. I wish
I could feel that the problem is solved. It seems like there might well be a
problem with the product rather than me alone. Some respondents had had no
problems at all their machines which 'worked like a dream' as one person
said (I wish I had one of those!), while two others clearly didn't feel that
way. I am quite prepared to accept that I have goofed, things can get very
messy with computers, and I make many mistakes. Give me a good old fashioned
stereo system any day.
If any one else has any further suggestions on getting this scanner to
ork - without having to reinstall the software everytime (although that is
a good idea, and it does at least change the machine's behaviour, thanks
John), or dare I say it , even by having to buy a Mac, gulp, I'd be most
grateful.
