Yes, Phillip is right about the lighting and the difficulty of viewing these
treasures. That said, they are the absolute top French Daguerreotypes and
they will knock the sox off anyone lucky enough to see them. They include, for
example, the famous 1838 picture by the Dag-man himself, "Boulevard du
Temple," 1838, which shows the strangely deserted thoroughfare at midday, save for
a man who stood still through the long exposure while having his shoes shined.
 I would say the accompanying book is a must-have. Arthur
