Encyclopedia of 19th-Century Photography

The editors of the Encyclopedia of 19th-Century Photography, to be
published in 2005 by Routledge, an imprint of Taylor & Francis, London,
are seeking contributing authors from a variety of academic backgrounds,
including the fine arts, social history, and the history of technology.
A three-volume reference of international scope, the encyclopedia brings
together information and the latest scholarship on the art and science
of photography up to 1900.

Edited by Pamela G. Roberts, formerly Curator of the UK's Royal
Photographic Society, the encyclopedia presents 650 main entries of
1,000 to 5,000 words on individuals, equipment and techniques, artistic
movements and criticism, development of the commerce of photography,
types of photography, and survey articles on the development of
photography within individual countries. An appendix of brief entries on
"minor and emerging figures" is included.
