Hi Maria,
This a complex subject. I highly recommend that you obtain at least one
of these books:
http://www.precisiondigitalnegatives.com/
or
http://www.danburkholder.com/Pages/main_pages/book_info_main_page1.htm
I have both. Precision Digital Negatives is more current and introduces
a very interesting and efficient method for making digital negatives
using color inks.
Some links to articles on making digital negatives:
http://tinyurl.com/47bh5 (an article by David Fokos)
http://tinyurl.com/3m3np (an article by Charles Palmer)
Both of these articles are nice despite being a little bit outdated.
Both concentrate on imagesetter negatives but most of the principles are
also applicable to inkjet negatives. It would be highly beneficial to
read them.
I instantly remembered you name - from alternativephotography site. Do
you teach at Biskops Arnö (or do private lessons)? If you teach at
Biskops Arnö please pass my greetings to Halil Koyuturk.
Regards,
Loris.
