Alex,

Exposure times with digital negatives can be dramatically shorter than with camera negatives. Also, shortening exposure with "regular" negatives may sacrifice highlights. Whereas with digital negatives, you can vary exposure to change the color yet retain detail almost everywhere.

The BL bulbs are a cheap price to pay for much quicker response time.
