Sandy,

The Imacon goes up to 8000 ppi. There are drum scanners that do 8000 ppi
and I think up to 10,000 ppi and maybe even 12,000 ppi.

So divide by the viewing or printing resolution and you have the
magnification. Another question is which would image the film grain more clearly.
