Jack,
This is a fairly common quote - said by many artists in slightly different twists of the phrase. I wouldn't doubt Cunningham said it, but I'm guessing several others have as well.

This quote came from Imogen Cunningham.
I believe it was asked of her sometime in the early 1970's after she had gained a bit of modern fame.

    Dear Esteemed List Members,

I was sipping my morning coffee and trying to remember a particular quotation related to photography. It is a response to a question and, if my memory serves me (which it often doesn't), goes something like this:

Question: "Of all your work, what is your favorite image?"

    Response: "The next one."

I believe this was a female photographer and the quote is from the last half of the 21st century (to narrow it down a bit hehehehehe)

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark Nelson
