Hi,

I haven't personally tried it on copper but you might want to try
PrintShield, the clear lacquer based spray for ink jet prints. I use it
for protecting a number of print surfaces. It's archival, dries clear
and makes the surface impervious to a number of the elements, you don't
even see it on the matte or resin coated papers if you give them a
couple of light coats. Just don't get heavy handed with it. It may also
keep the copper from tarnishing, I know lacquer is used to spray
antique brass hardware and beds for such purposes. If you try it let me
know how it works.
