I respectfully disagree about Dan Burkholder's book. Buy it. It is
reasonably priced and a hand-holding guide to making digital negatives. It
is a rare book in the how-to genre, very well written, clear and practical.
It is a book that also lives on my book shelf as a constant reference
source. You will never regret owning it if you are going to make digital
negatives. Joachim

Hi Marilyn,
My suggestion is don't worry about the negative paper at this moment, use
pictorico later on you will look at cheaper type.
The negative have the same size of the print, this means that they are large
and can easily get damage but then you reprint from your file.
Don't buy Dan's book, to start you just need to be good at photoshop,
printing B/W 300 dpi thru INVERT.
Do first cyanotype and read about the other alternative process.
Go to following web sites:
http://www.bostick-sullivan.com/
http://www.photoformulary.com/
They have plenty of information, kits (you may want them to try) and
supplies.
If you need anything else let me know,
Giovanni
