Even better is to buy glutaraldehyde or synthesize
2,4-dichloro-6-hydroxy-s-triazine. The latter is also a very good
hardener extensively used in commercial products. I don't think you
can buy it from anywhere but you can synthesize pretty easily (for
this sort of things), especially if you can tolerate some carbonate or
phosphate buffer as the impurity.
