Re: Selling on eBay (Was Slightly OT: large Format Camera)

Ebay's take is about 5-10%, depending on the type and number of
services a seller chooses to include, and how a buyer accepts
payment.This may seem like a lot, but my experience is that you can
get a lot more for LF equipment selling on ebay than by selling to
one of the big used equipment companies. Midwest is a good place to
buy but I am fairly certain that for most LF equipment a person could
get more on ebay.

If you sell on ebay understand that the description of your items and
the illustrative appeal of your pictures is very important. In many
cases you are in effect competing with other sellers offering the
same item so you need some kind of competitive edge.

I personally nearly always research past selling prices and sell with
the Buy it Now option. This option is popular with some buyers who
don't want to follow the bidding process so if the seller sets a
price that is not outrageous it may appeal to some buyers.
