It really depends on the number of total water changes per minute. If
you wash with a strong flow of water that results in 3-4 water
changes every minute then you could probably reduce time to ten
minutes, or even less, after hypo clear. My recommendation for thirty
minutes was based on washing 7X17 and 12X20 sheet film in a 16X20
tray with a siphon, when the flow of water is sufficient to give no
more than about two changes per minute of water.

Whatever method of wash you use calculate the time needed to give a
minimum of about twenty complete changes of water. Or to be on the
safe side, about thirty changes.

I have never noticed any increase in general stain with Pyrocat-HD
negatives with long wash times.
