If you can do, do.

If you can't do, teach.

If you can't teach, go into administration.

  Subject: Teaching and the Gurus

Many, many years ago I worked in a college with a photography lecturer who had, what some might regard as, a somewhat cynical attitude. With tongue in cheek, he maintained that if you couldnt get anywhere with doing something in the field of the creative arts i.e. selling your work at a profit, then the next thing was to teach your subject to students. If you couldnt get anywhere with this then move on to teaching teachers.
               Sour grape, anyone?
