As Loris pointed out, cyanotype and VanDykes are different things, made with
some different things. The second has a silver salt.
Chloridric acid in the first wash will lead to a silver chloride
precipitate, its removal will require a long soak with a more concentrated
fixer than usual for VDB... and probabily it will fade.
Resuming, choridric acid is NOT recommended.
I would stay on the classical procedure... it works!
